Core Responsibilities

1. Induction and Training:

Introducing intern to communications & partnerships workflows.

  • Orientation on IAC’s mission, values, and communications goals.
  • Overview of departmental functions: events, outreach, PR, social media.
  • Training on collaboration tools (Google Workspace, ClickUp, Canva).
  • Shadow PR & Partnerships on outreach processes.
  • Introduction to media management basics: creating and updating media contact lists, tracking coverage.
  • Introduction to stakeholder communication protocols: donor/partner communication etiquette, reporting structures.
  • Initial tasks: note-taking in meetings, database familiarisation.

2. Foundation & Initial Deliverables (Probation)

Practical onboarding through small assignments.

  • Assist in 1 event (coordination/logistics).
  • Update and clean 1 CSR + Media database.
  • Support PR team in drafting short media notes or press release snippets.
  • Shadow senior team on stakeholder calls/emails and draft follow-up notes.
  • Probation review at the end of Week 4.

3. Independent Execution & Departmental Coordination

Take ownership of recurring tasks with guidance.

  • Assist Events Coordinator with logistics for 1 small event or volunteer activity.
  • Assist with campaign scheduling and live coverage (social media).
  • Maintain and update media tracker: press mentions, outreach attempts, journalist contacts.
  • Draft first-level communication emails/notes for stakeholders (partners, corporates, media)

Support in preparing briefing documents for senior leadership before external meetings.

4. Leadership & Strategic Execution:

  • Begin leading projects with reduced supervision.
  • Manage documentation/reporting for a key campaign or event.
  • Lead coordination between design, PR, and social media teams for deliverables.
  • Represent the team in internal check-ins for ongoing projects.
  • Take lead on maintaining a structured media contact database and coverage reports.
  • Manage stakeholder follow-ups: sending event thank-you notes and post-event reports.
  • Propose improvements to outreach, media engagement, or stakeholder communication processes.

5. Weeks 13–24: Advanced Project & Capstone

  • Maintain an updated CSR database, outreach pipeline, and media tracker.
  • Draft a comprehensive stakeholder communication package (template emails, press kit, and reporting format).
  • Deliver 1 comprehensive campaign/event case study (including media impact and stakeholder engagement).
  • Handover of updated databases, reports, media tracker, and communication templates for continuity.
