Role Overview

To establish and strengthen IAC’s governance, risk, compliance and assurance mechanisms.

The role will provide leadership with visibility on organizational risks, policy compliance, audits, control gaps and corrective actions, while building the systems required for a mature corporate assurance framework.

Key Responsibilities

1. Governance

  • Establish and maintain a structured governance framework across IAC.
  • Maintain governance calendars, trackers and review mechanisms.
  • Track compliance with organizational policies, SOPs and governance requirements.
  • Identify governance gaps and recommend corrective measures.
  • Support preparation of governance reports for senior leadership/Board-level reviews where required.

2. Risk Management

  • Develop and maintain the organizational risk register.
  • Identify, assess and categorize key operational, financial, regulatory and strategic risks.
  • Work with departments to establish risk mitigation plans.
  • Track risk mitigation actions and their closure.
  • Periodically report significant risks and emerging risks to leadership.
  • Support development of a structured Enterprise Risk Management framework.

3. Internal & External Audits

  • Conduct transactional audits throughout the organisation to improve processes.
  • Coordinate and maintain the organization’s annual audit calendar.
  • Coordinate internal, statutory and other relevant audits.
  • Act as the central point of coordination between auditors and departments.
  • Track audit observations and management responses.
  • Prepare periodic audit status reports for senior leadership.

4. Policy, Compliance & Internal Controls

  • Review and write organizational policies and SOPs from a governance and control perspective.
  • Support periodic policy reviews and updates.
  • Establish mechanisms to ensure policies are implemented, not merely documented.
  • Monitor key compliance requirements across departments.
  • Maintain a Compliance Calendar and Compliance Tracker.
  • Escalate significant or recurring compliance deviations.
  • Review key organizational processes to identify control gaps.
  • Support development and implementation of appropriate internal controls.
  • Evaluate segregation of duties, approval mechanisms and documentation requirements.
  • Identify potential areas of financial, operational or reputational exposure.
  • Recommend improvements to strengthen organizational controls.

5. Corporate Assurance Transition

During the initial phase, the person will operate within the CEO’s Office to understand IAC’s systems, departments, policies, risks and operational processes.

Over time, the role will transition into Corporate Assurance, with responsibility for creating a more independent and organization-wide assurance mechanism.

Key Outcomes

  • Establish and maintain a structured governance framework, including governance calendars, trackers and review mechanisms.
  • Develop and maintain an organization-wide risk register and structured risk mitigation tracking mechanism.
  • Establish a coordinated annual audit calendar and improve visibility of audit observations, management responses and closure.
  • Strengthen policy, compliance and internal control mechanisms across IAC.
  • Build the systems and processes required for the transition from CEO’s Office-based assurance to a more independent, organization-wide Corporate Assurance function.

Must-Have Requirements

  • CA with strong understanding of accounting, audit, controls and organizational governance.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in one or more of the following:
    • Internal Audit
    • Risk Advisory
    • Big 4
    • Corporate Assurance
    • Governance/Risk/Compliance
    • Financial Controls
    • Statutory/External Audit
  • Ability to independently review processes and identify weaknesses.
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills.
  • Excellent documentation and report-writing skills.
  • Strong follow-up and stakeholder management skills.
  • High degree of integrity, confidentiality and professional judgment.
  • Ability to work with both senior leadership and operational teams.
  • Should be comfortable operating in an organization where systems and processes are still evolving.

Preferred Skills

  • Exposure to developing or implementing governance, risk, compliance or internal control frameworks.
  • Experience working across multiple departments and coordinating audit or assurance activities.
  • Experience in an organization undergoing process and systems development.

Growth Opportunity

The role is designed to evolve from an initial position within the CEO’s Office into an organization-wide Corporate Assurance function.

As the Corporate Assurance framework matures, the role will have the opportunity to take increasing responsibility for governance, risk management, compliance, audit coordination and internal controls across IAC.
