Role Overview
This role is being created to strengthen IAC’s visual communication and storytelling across platforms. The Junior Graphic Designer will play a key role in translating IAC’s mission into compelling visual narratives, enhancing brand consistency and engagement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design & Content Creation:
Create visual assets including social media graphics, presentations, brochures, and reports
Design logos, illustrations, and branding elements aligned with IAC’s identity
Develop engaging visual storytelling formats for campaigns and outreach
Edit and refine existing design assets as required
2. Branding & Visual Identity:
Ensure consistency across all brand touchpoints
Support the evolution of IAC’s visual language and design systems
Apply typography, colour theory, and layout principles effectively
Contribute to innovative branding solutions for different verticals
3. Illustration & Creative Development:
Create original illustrations for campaigns, educational content, and storytelling
Adapt illustration styles to suit different audiences (children, caregivers, professionals)
Collaborate on visual concepts that simplify complex ideas through design
4. Collaboration & Coordination:
Work closely with communications, program, and research teams
Translate briefs into high-quality visual outputs
Incorporate feedback and iterate designs efficiently
Manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines
5. Trends & Quality Control:
Stay updated with design trends and tools
Ensure high-quality output with attention to detail
Maintain organised design files and version control
Key Outcomes
Consistent and high-quality visual branding across all IAC platforms
Increased engagement on digital and offline communication materials
Development of a strong visual storytelling library (including illustrations)
Timely delivery of design assets for campaigns and organisational needs
Must-Have Requirements
Proficiency in graphic design and visual communication
Strong skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
Solid understanding of typography, layout, and branding principles
Ability to create original illustrations and visual concepts
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Good communication and collaboration skills
Willingness to work on-site in Kolkata
Preferred Skills
0–2 years of relevant design experience
Experience working with non-profits or social impact organisations
Familiarity with motion graphics or basic animation
Exposure to accessibility-focused or inclusive design practices
