Role Overview

This role is responsible for ensuring the seamless day-to-day functioning of the campus while acting as the first line of response for any on-ground operational issues. The Campus Operations Manager will play a critical role in maintaining a safe, responsive, and well-managed environment for all stakeholders.

The role is central to enabling a high-quality campus experience by ensuring that operational challenges are resolved quickly, efficiently, and with sensitivity.

Key Responsibilities

Campus Operations, Troubleshooting & Risk Management

  • Act as the first responder for all on-ground operational issues and escalations
  • Proactively identify potential operational risks and implement mitigation measures
  • Anticipate issues before they escalate and ensure preventive action
  • Handle complaints (e.g., food quality, infrastructure issues, cleanliness concerns) in a calm, solution-oriented manner
  • Ensure quick resolution by coordinating with the relevant teams (canteen, maintenance, security, etc.)
  • Maintain a high standard of stakeholder experience through responsive and empathetic handling

Stakeholder & Staff Coordination

  • Coordinate closely with housekeeping, pantry, security, gardeners, and other Group D staff
  • Act as the central point of contact between stakeholders and support teams
  • Ensure accountability and timely resolution of issues by all vendors and staff
  • Build strong working relationships to enable smooth operations

Campus Administration

  • Oversee day-to-day administrative functioning of the campus
  • Ensure facilities are always operationally ready for programs and residential use
  • Support the smooth execution of all on-ground campus activities

Inventory & Resource Management

  • Manage inventory of supplies, consumables, and equipment
  • Ensure timely procurement and availability of essential resources
  • Monitor usage and optimize resource utilization to minimize wastage

Facility Management & Maintenance

  • Oversee upkeep and maintenance of campus infrastructure
  • Coordinate repairs, breakdowns, and preventive maintenance
  • Ensure adherence to safety, hygiene, and operational standards

Policy & SOP Development

  • Develop and implement operational policies across campus functions
  • Create SOPs for housekeeping, security, pantry, and facility management
  • Continuously refine processes based on real-time operational learnings

  • Quick and effective resolution of on-ground issues with high stakeholder satisfaction
  • Proactive risk identification leading to fewer operational disruptions
  • Smooth day-to-day campus operations with minimal escalations
  • Strong coordination across teams leading to faster turnaround times

Must-Have Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in operations, administration, or facility/campus management
  • Proven ability to handle on-ground operations, troubleshooting, and risk management
  • Strong stakeholder management and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and take ownership of issues
  • Willingness to work on-site at the Sirakol campus

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in institutional setups (campus, hospital, NGO, residential facility)
  • Exposure to vendor management and service quality monitoring
  • Experience in SOP creation and process improvement
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
