Role Overview
The Senior Nutritionist is responsible for strengthening the integration of nutrition into clinical care at India Autism Center. It enables evidence-based dietary interventions that support behavioural regulation, metabolic health, and overall well-being for individuals with neurodevelopmental conditions.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Nutrition & Intervention
- Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments covering dietary habits, deficiencies, sensory preferences, and metabolic indicators
- Evaluate food sensitivities, gastrointestinal concerns, and gut–brain health factors
- Design and implement individualised diet plans aligned to clinical, behavioural, and sensory needs
- Collaborate with clinical teams on nutrition-linked behavioural and mental health interventions
Clinical Governance & Systems Integration
- Maintain high standards in nutritional assessments, documentation, and care plans
- Integrate assessment and intervention workflows with Clinical Care Software (CCS)
- Support selection and implementation of compatible nutrition/diet tracking tools within the broader clinical system
- Contribute to the standardisation of dietary protocols and reporting formats
- Ensure adherence to ethical standards, confidentiality, and clinical guidelines
Interdisciplinary Collaboration
- Work closely with psychologists, physicians, occupational therapists, and speech-language therapists to integrate nutrition into care plans
- Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, case reviews, and care discussions
- Coordinate with kitchen, hospitality, and nursing teams to ensure dietary compliance in residential and day-care settings
- Provide input into therapeutic menu planning and food preparation protocols
Family & Caregiver Engagement
- Conduct caregiver training sessions on nutrition for behaviour, mood, and daily functioning
- Develop practical home-based diet plans and guidance materials
- Support families in managing selective eating, sensory aversions, and food-related behaviours
- Promote awareness of food–behaviour relationships and sustainable dietary practices
Training, Research & Knowledge Development
- Contribute to internal training and cross-functional capacity-building initiatives
- Stay updated with advancements in clinical nutrition, neuro-nutrition, and gut–brain health
- Support research, data collection, and documentation of nutritional outcomes
- Contribute to the development of institutional knowledge resources and frameworks

- Consistent delivery of evidence-based, individualised nutritional interventions
- Measurable improvement in client outcomes (behaviour, attention, mood, physical health)
- Standardised and compliant nutritional documentation across cases
- Effective integration of nutrition within multidisciplinary care plans

Must-Have Requirements
Educational Qualification
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Clinical Nutrition / Dietetics / Nutritional Biochemistry / Food and Nutrition Science
- Registration with the Indian Dietetic Association (IDA) or an equivalent recognised body
Professional Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in clinical nutrition or dietetics
- Demonstrated experience working with neurodevelopmental, behavioural, or related populations
- Hands-on experience in nutritional assessment, diet planning, and intervention delivery
Core Skills
- Strong understanding of clinical nutrition, gut–brain health, and functional dietary approaches
- Ability to translate nutritional science into practical, individualised care plans
- Strong documentation and case management capabilities
- Effective interdisciplinary collaboration and communication
Preferred Skills
- Experience in multidisciplinary or institutional care settings
- Exposure to therapeutic diets and nutrition-linked behavioural interventions
- Familiarity with digital health tools or dietary tracking systems
- Involvement in training, mentoring, or research initiatives
