I’m an artist on the autism spectrum, and IAC is my first workplace. I was nervous at first, but when my team truly listened and gave me a quiet space, my own routine, and an easel. It changed everything. At IAC, I can focus, grow my skills, and explore who I am as an artist without being pushed past my limits.

My path into this field wasn’t the most typical, but IAC didn’t ask for a perfect resume. They looked at what I could do. On the Project team, you’re either on the move or covered in mud (sometimes both!), but that’s where the learning happens. I’ve grown fast here, not just in skill but in confidence. This place gave me a real shot, and I’m building something solid with it.

My current research focuses on autism phenotyping, with an effort to advance understanding of autism and inform the development of individualised interventions in the Indian context. I joined the IAC as a junior researcher at the early stages of this initiative, when this line of inquiry was just beginning to take shape. What has sustained my commitment to this work is the intellectual challenge posed by the complexity of autism as a condition, and deep respect for neurodivergent perspectives.

I joined as a project coordinator when IAC was still building from the ground up. The culture here, open, mission-first, and deeply respectful, helped me grow into a leadership role, where I now shape organizational policies that align with global best practices and genuine disability inclusion.
