Role Overview
The Head of Corporate Assurance will lead the organization-wide compliance, governance, risk, and assurance functions at India Autism Center. This role is responsible for ensuring that all institutional operations, policies, and systems are aligned with applicable laws, regulatory frameworks, and internal standards, while building a strong culture of accountability and ethical governance across IAC.
Key Responsibilities
1. Compliance & Regulatory Governance
- Oversee all statutory, legal, and regulatory compliance across the organization
- Ensure alignment of internal policies with applicable government regulations and evolving compliance frameworks
- Drive timely registration, renewals, filings, and maintenance of statutory records and certifications
- Act as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities, legal advisors, and compliance bodies
2. Policy Framework & Institutional Governance
- Lead the development, review, and standardization of organizational policies and SOPs
- Ensure all internal policies remain updated and compliant with government and regulatory requirements
- Establish governance frameworks to ensure consistent implementation across all functions
- Strengthen policy awareness and accountability across departments
3. Risk Management & Internal Assurance
- Design and implement an enterprise-level risk management framework for the organization
- Identify, assess, and monitor operational, financial, legal, and reputational risks
- Recommend and drive risk mitigation strategies across departments
- Build a proactive, risk-aware culture within the organization
4. Internal Audit & Controls
- Establish and lead internal audit systems covering financial, operational, and compliance areas
- Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and recommend improvements
- Ensure closure of audit observations and track corrective actions
- Maintain audit readiness for external and regulatory audits
5. Reporting & Strategic Advisory
- Develop structured compliance dashboards and assurance reports for leadership
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting from all departments for compliance tracking
- Provide strategic inputs to the CEO and senior leadership on governance, risk, and compliance matters
- Support leadership in decision-making through data-backed assurance insights

Must-Have Requirements
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or Company Secretary (CS) with 10+ years of experience in Compliance, Audit, Risk, or Corporate Assurance
- Strong knowledge of Indian statutory, regulatory, and governance frameworks
- Proven experience in policy development, enterprise risk management, and internal audits
- Experience in building and implementing compliance and assurance systems at an organizational level
- Excellent analytical, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
- High ethical standards and a strong sense of accountability
Preferred Skills
- Experience in the social sector, education, healthcare, or non-profit ecosystem
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive compliance across functions
- Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking capabilities
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion
