Role Overview
The Senior Speech and Language Therapist is responsible for strengthening the quality, consistency, and impact of speech and language therapy services at India Autism Center. It enables structured, evidence-based communication interventions and supports integrated care delivery for individuals with neurodevelopmental and communication disorders.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Practice & Service Delivery
- Conduct comprehensive assessments across speech, language, communication, voice, fluency, and swallowing domains
- Design and implement individualised, evidence-based intervention plans
- Support the use and implementation of Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) systems
- Address receptive and expressive language, social communication, articulation, fluency, and oro-motor challenges
Clinical Governance & Quality Assurance
- Maintain high standards in assessments, reporting, and therapy documentation
- Integrate assessment and intervention workflows with Clinical Care Software (CCS)
- Support standardisation of assessment tools, therapy protocols, and reporting formats
- Participate in clinical audits, peer reviews, and case discussions
- Ensure adherence to ethical standards, confidentiality, and regulatory guidelines
Clinical Supervision & Team Support
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior therapists and interns
- Support clinical decision-making in complex or co-morbid cases
- Contribute to performance feedback and skill development within the team
- Drive consistency in therapy delivery and documentation practices
Interdisciplinary Collaboration
- Collaborate with occupational therapists, psychologists, physiotherapists, special educators, and behaviour therapists
- Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, Individualised Program Plan (IPP) reviews, and care discussions
- Contribute to integrated care plans and shared outcome tracking
- Support the development of cross-functional communication frameworks and AAC protocols
Family & Caregiver Engagement
- Support caregiver training for home-based communication interventions
- Conduct sessions to improve carryover of therapy goals into daily routines
- Guide families in the use of assistive communication tools and strategies
- Promote inclusive and neurodiversity-affirming communication practices
Training, Research & Knowledge Development
- Contribute to internal training sessions, workshops, and capacity-building initiatives
- Stay updated with advancements in speech and language therapy and communication sciences
- Support research, documentation, and data collection efforts
- Contribute to the development of clinical resources and knowledge frameworks

- Standardised and compliant clinical documentation across cases

Must-Have Requirements
Educational Qualification
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology / Audiology & Speech Sciences
Professional Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in speech and language therapy practice
- Demonstrated experience working with neurodevelopmental conditions (Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Learning Disabilities, Intellectual Disabilities)
- Hands-on experience in assessment, intervention planning, and therapy delivery
Core Skills
- Strong grounding in speech, language, and communication disorders
- Experience in AAC systems and communication interventions
- Ability to deliver structured, evidence-based therapy
- Strong documentation and case management skills
- Effective interdisciplinary collaboration and communication
Preferred Skills
- Experience in multidisciplinary or institutional care settings
